Billy Peek – CD Release Party for "Tribute To A Poet" at the Sheldon Concert Hall on June 23, 2006
It was a bit warm in the Sheldon, then Billy started playing and he about burned the house down. The sell-out crowd danced and cheered as Billy talked of playing country music, played some then made mention of his changing event that cost him a nickel when a friend had him play a Chuck Berry song from the jukebox. The music was great, high energy and the band was in perfect form. The house was a rockin' with Billy Peek on guitar and
vocals, Don "Taz" Tieman on drums, Dave
Moreland on bass, Steve Grimes
on piano and organ (at one point both at the same time) and special guest Diane
Randazzo plays tambourine on a couple of songs.
Billy was presented with a proclamation from Mayor Slay for his many achievements in bringing St. Louis to the forefront.
The evening could not have been any better, thanks to Busch's Grove for hosting the party. If you missed this show then you missed an outstanding show and easily one of the best by a remarkable guitar player. You will be able to catch Billy on Wednesday nights starting in July at Busch's Grove.
Catch a show and buy the CD! Also, check out the "Tribute To A Poet" review.
Peace.
