Slim Nominated "Best New Artist" received
a standing ovation following his solo set during
the 26th Annual WC Handy Blues Awards program on
May 5, 2005 in Memphis, TN.
This
is a Country Blues CD of the purest form. It has
the gritty slides of the laptop (guitar to you young-
un’s) with some fine pickin’. My personal
favorites are “Cynical Old Bastard”
and one of the two bonus tracks “Trashy Trashmen”.
Unusual
sounds on some cuts, and easy bluesy sounds on others,
and some electric blues to keep the toes tapping.
You cannot listen to this and not think the word
“Eclectic” doesn’t fit this CD.
While this is not my bottle of beer it is a good
mix of country truck drivin’ gritty blues.
All in all I give it a 3 on the STLBluesometer.
