Robert
Plant – Dreamland
{re-release 2007}
Legendary
voice of Led Zeppelin takes a soulful voyage to
explore his musical influences. Probably the bluesiest
album Plants done in his solo career. Funny
in My Mind is a Mississippi Delta song. One
More Cup of Coffee is a slow-paced cover on
Bob Dylans song. Darkness, Darkness is
a remake of the Youngbloods song. The most known
song is Jimi Hendrix 'Hey Joe', Plants
version features a ghimbri, a three-string, Mid
Eastern instrument. For me the triumph was Win
My Train Fare Home which is a blues medley
featuring elements of Arthur ‘Big Boy’
Crudups “If I Ever Get Luck”
& “That’s Alright Mama”,
Robert Johnsons “Milk Cow’s Calf
Blues” and John Lee Hookers “Crawlin’
King Snake”. This is one of Plants better
solo projects, less pop, more free spirited as Plant
delves into psychedelic-acoustic-rockin’-blues.
