Thin Lizzy – Are You Ready?
Eagle Rock, Nov. 2009
Ireland’s Thin Lizzy with Phil Lynott (bass and vocals), Scott Gorham, Snowy White on guitars, Darren Wharton on keys and drummer Brian Downey perform live at Rockpalast. Thin Lizzy is among rock music's elite and a synonym for classic rock. As one of the first bands to break out of Ireland, Thin Lizzy's music was hard, yet melodic; their lyrics romanticized stories of love, love-lost, and street life as well as Irish folklore. Their signature double guitar lead sound has influenced countless bands beyond the rock genre. They have had over fourteen top 20 hits in Europe while classic tracks such as "The Boys Are Back In Town", "Jailbreak", and "Cowboy Song" have become staples of American rock radio.
There’s plenty of guitar, some hits; Jailbreak, The Boys Are Back In Town and Don’t Believe A Word. This band is about as classic rock as they come with the exception of the the lead is the bass player. The guitars, both playing Les Paul’s, frequently took turn on blaring guitar solos.

Lucky were those folks in Loreley, Germany on this evening. Lucky for us who weren’t there it’s now being released on DVD. This captures Thin Lizzy at their best – performing live. The year was 1981, they played radio favorites and some rarities. The energy was raw rock for nearly the full 112 minutes!
Peace and Love
