Candye
Kane – Superhero
Delta Groove Productions – June 2009
In
February 2008 Candye was diagnosed with pancreatic
cancer, in that same year she Nominated for a National
Blues Foundation Award for Best Blues Contemporary
Female. Thankfully, she overcame this disease and
less than one year later has been pronounced cancer
free. With renewed energy and a new lease on life
Candye now makes her triumphant return with Superhero,
her most personal and rewarding effort to date.
Featuring special guests Kid Ramos, Dave Gonzales
and Mitch Kashmar.

1. Superhero

This
CD is a bit of a journey in itself, there’s
sultry jazz, swing and of course, soulful blues.
At times this blues diva’s vocals were Tedeschi
like. The lyrics were well written and the backing
back was fantastic.
I
enjoyed this CD a lot, fifteen songs no less. For
me personally I loved the song “Ik Hou Van Je
(I Love You)” and can easily add that to one
of my all time favorites. This CD stands out and above
Candye’s prior releases, for her fans you’ll
LOVE it! For those who have not yet been exposed to
Candye I suppose if you like good music with great
female vocals then this would be a good choice.
Peace and Love
