The
Black Crowes – Warpaint Live
Eagle Rock, 2009
Warpaint Live was recorded
March 20, 2008 at The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles.
Chris is responsible for vocals, harmonica and guitar,
while Rich added more guitar and vocals. Others
joining the Robinson brothers are Luther Dickinson
(guitar), Steve Gorman (percussion/drums), Adam
MacDogall (keyboard) and Sven Pipien (bass and vocals)
along with backing vocals from Charity White and
Mona Lisa Young. Besides the Live 2-CD there’s
a Live DVD (17 songs in 103 minutes).
Disc 1
1. Goodbye Daughter Of The Revolution
2. Walk Believer Walk
3. Oh, Josephine
4. Evergreen
5. Wee Who See The Deep
6. Locust Street
7. Movin’ On Down The Line

10. There’s Gold In Them Hills
11. Whoa Mule
Disc

Performing
the entire Warpaint album with extended live versions,
plus a mix from past BC nuggets and previously-unreleased
covers (including the Rolling Stones’ “Torn
And Frayed”). While I’ve never seen them
live, their shows are legendary and sell out quickly
all over the world. The Black Crowes are one of the
all-time great live rock bands, and live is when the
Robinson brothers are at their best. This combines
classic rock jams with a southern and bluesy flair.
While The Black Crowes formed in 1990 their music
is more of a 70’s blues influenced hard rock,
Warpaint Live is NO exception. At the time of writing
The Black Crowes were on the European leg of their
09’ tour. If you missed Zeppelin live you may
want to try and catch these guys or at least buy the
CD or DVD for a live experience.
