Los
Lonely Boys – Texican Style (Live From
Austin)
{Recorded live at Auditorium Shores, Austin,
Texas, U.S.A. on March 20, 2004}
Wow,
these three Garza brothers have literally conquered
the world with their hard hitting playing and
super harmonized vocals. While relatively new
to the scene they are absolutely fantastic -
they sound great, have a ton of energy, produce
tight music, and in my humble opinion the best
new band (period). Their style is part rock,
part Latin blended in Texas blues roots and
solos.
This
concert was high energy from the beginning.
Jojo and Henry alternated in singing. At time
it was two or three of them singing, in perfect
harmony.
Supper
Time was written when getting off of Willie
Nelson’s bus. Jojo (bass) played guitar
while Ringo (drums) and Henry (guitar) sang.
During the song both Jojo and Henry played the
same guitar and there was a kazoo, yes, I said
kazoo solo.
This
concert followed the debut of their self-titled
album that has gone double platinum and won
them a Grammy. I told you they were good, and
to think they are just in their twenties.
Throughout
the concert these guys were in the groove, movin’
and jumpin’ while playing. Both encore
songs were high speed instrumentals. Jojo played
bass on the ground as if pedal steel. Both Henry
and Jojo played their guitar/bass with only
one hand, while extending their instruments
towards the screaming audience followed be a
behind the head solo.

I will visit this DVD often. Cornbreads recommendation,
which goes along with Big Daves, is to get this
DVD. Get their CD’s and try and catch
a live show. You won’t be sorry.
Ciao' for now, peace.
