Jeff Beck – Truth
Every
once in a while you are just browsing the cd section
that you've looked thru a dozen times and out pops
a CD you gotta get. It's even better when you listen
to it and like it. This is an example of such and
turned out to be diamond in the ruff, a true gem
of a cd. With songs originally released 40 years
ago this timeless treasure of 60's psychedelic blues
this CD is killer. An unknown at the time, Rod Stewart
joins buddy Beck with rich vocals. I really liked
track 14, Bolero, the keys on 15, Blues De Luxe
(take 1). Shapes Of Things is a rearranged Yardbirds
song.
You get 18 tracks, 11-18 are bonus tracks. Joining
Beck and Stewart is Ron Wood forming Becks post
Yardbirds super group. Keith Moon is on tracks 8,
5 and 14. Jimmy Page plays 12-string 8 and 14. John
Paul Jones is playng organ on 4, 5, 12 and bass
on 8, 14 & 18. The guitar is excellent. Some
songs would be better loud, no duds here, there
isn't a bad track. This gets a 5 on the STLBluesometer
– a must have.
'Nuff said. Buy the CD!
Love
and peace til next time.
