Candye
Kane – Guitar’d and Feathered
(2007) Thirteen new songs from Candye with a
few guitar friends: Sue Foley, Ana Popovic,
Bob Brozman, Kid Ramos, Popa Chubby, Dave Alvin,
Junior Watson and Bob Margolin. The guest guitarists
added their own flair and sound but only to
support Candye singing the blues. From all I’ve
heard from Candye library this is the best,
the bluesiest – a good CD!

Sue & Her Big Rockin’ Daddies! –
The L.A.B. Results
Recorded live and in concert on 2/13/05 in the
Little Auditorium in the Back (The L.A.B.) in
Seattle Washington. We get 13 tracks, loaded
with harp, sax and upright bass in addition
to guitar, drums, washboard and shakers –
and great vocals! |

Gwyn
Ashton – Prohibition
Ahhh…. this 2007 release with fourteen
raw songs with lots of energy and southern rockin’
blues sounds so good. Imagine a guitar slingin’
gal that mixes Sammy Hagar and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Not a bad track, I liked em’ all! It’s
67 minutes of blues paradise! |

Marguerite
Mariama – Wild Women Never Get The Blues…
Well, Not Anymore!
Is the 2006 release, featuring nine jazz tracks.
Knocks Me Off My Feet is an interesting
take on Stevie Wonders song. While this was
easy on the ears it did not really grab me as
blues what-so-ever but would serve well as mellow
background music with nice vocals. |

Glover - Red Handed
2007 – Eleven songs from the European
Glover. This CD mixes it up, some slower, some
quick tempo’d, some Hammond, good vocals,
great lyrics. I’d put this in a class
of it’s own. I liked Clear Why Flight
the best, followed by the guitar/bass work on
Hot Knives. |

Roxanne
Potvin – The Way It Feels
(Ruf Records) 2007
Twelve songs from the telecaster playin’
Potvin. For most part it was a variation of
modern country blues. Roxanne’s sultry
singing is outstanding. La Merveille, French?

Sicilia – Allow Me To Confess
(SwingNation Records) 2007
It’s a swingin’ good time, big band
music with and Tsedechi like vocals that creates
a perfect match. I really liked just about all
of the tracks, but the slower Try Me and Rest
Of My Days were killer. The band outstanding
but I kinda dug the tunes with less backing.
Debuted at #10 on Living Blues.
