Where
The Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles
(CD, LP, DVD & Blu-Ray)
{Columbia Records - July 1st, 2008}
Where The Light Is: John
Mayer Live In Los Angeles was filmed December 8th,
2007 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. This special
release includes three distinct sets: an acoustic
performance, a rare set with John Mayer Trio (John
Mayer, Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino), as well
as a Continuum set featuring Mayer’s full-band.
As a side, both Mayer and Palladino (Pino also plays
with The Who) have a Fender signature instrument.
This album features the Grammy
winning Mayer as an acoustic songwriter, electric
guitar slinger, bluesman and vocalist on 22-tracks.
Highlights include many of Mayer's biggest hits,
'Waiting On The World To Change' new interpretations
of cover song, 'Free Fallen' and a previously unreleased
Mayer gem 'In Your Atmosphere'.

For me the acoustic set was
really good, the set with John Mayer Trio was outstanding!
This set was slow-burnin’ blues that reeked
of mojo. At times it was like listening to Stevie
Ray Vaughan’s vocals. The CD is two discs;
the first has the acoustic and John Mayer Trio set
– this disc is among tops in my collection.
The third has more frequent radio play songs. As
I’m sitting in my studio office I glanced
at the stack of un-read publications, there on the
top is Rolling Stone with Mayer and others on the
cover that reads Guitar Heroes.
Buy the CD and/or DVD! Disc
one alone is worth the sales prices, oh and the
DVD has over 164 minutes of run-time and a couple
of bonus songs.
Peace
& Love,
Peter
