Since
I am working close to the St. Charles area, I figured
I would venture out and see what was up with the blues
fest this evening. What a perfect night it was for some
good music and great atmosphere! I am attaching some pics
from a few of the various performers of this years festival.
It was great to see the Pennsylvania Slim Blues Band,
the Blues Handle Band, and Mojo Syndrome. Pennsylvania
Slim and his band are one of my favorite artists in St.
Louis. They were the first band I ever got a chance to
see live, and I have been hooked on this blues thing since
then! They have two Cds out and a third one is one the
way, possibly slated for release early next year. These
guys play regular around town and at BB's Jazz, Blues
& Soups a few times a month. I am also pretty familiar
with the Blues Handle Band. They play some originals tunes
and cover songs all making for a great mix of blues sounds
with a jumping atmosphere. Plus, they are certainly a
nice bunch of characters. Also, the harp player does some
amazing solos which helps the band fit together quite
nicely. You can catch the Blues Handle Band at Bartman's
Sports Bar & Grill on Sept 27th for their next live
appearance. The last band I caught was Mojo Syndrome.
I have seen these fellas perform a few times in the past
and enjoyed their bluesy style. With Eric Mcspadden on
harp and Larry Griffen on guitar, you just can't go wrong
with this combo. I hope everyone enjoys our local blues
talent as much as I do, and I encourage you to get out
and support St. Louis musicians as much as possible! Enjoy
the pics everyone!
