Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers
have been around for a while now. The one and
only time I have seen them perform was at Generations
(back when they did blues shows.) I was overly
impressed by the rhythm and horn section. Thackery
has distinct vocals with a rich and gravely
sound. His guitar work is also excellent. Jimmy
states that "I put all my senses on hold
and find the zone and follow what's inside.
There's electricity from your mind to your heart
to your fingers. You just try and remember to
breathe." He was the co-founder of the
Nighthawks and ended his time with them in 1987.
Since then, Jimmy has been on the road as a
solo musician for 15 years doing nearly 300
shows a year. Below you will find a mini review
