Live
on the Levee |
Live
on the Levee is a entertainment and concert series
that takes place each year at one of St. Louis'
premiere outdoor venues - at the foot of the Arch,
overlooking the Mighty Mississippi! There's more
than music that makes up this event that runs from
mid July through mid August, there's also the Family
Fun Village, and the “Eats” Bridge.
This year featured names like Lyle Lovett, Grand
Funk Railroad, Morris Day, Cheap Trick, and many
more. The blues took their turn on August 5th, when
St. Louis bands Johnny
Fox & Howard Young followed by the Bottoms
Up Blues Gang took their turn as the opening
acts for Kenny
Wayne Shepherd.
Kenny is a Grammy nominated performer who needs
little introduction to most, and he lived up to
his reputation on this evening. Maybe it was the
great weather, his spot performing under the Arch,
or the energy coming at him from the thousands of
fans who thronged near the stage! Whatever the source,
Kenny delivered one of his finest shows St. Louis
has witnessed, varying his tempo from a roaring
rockin' number to his journey down to a Mississippi
blues feel. An exciting evening of music, in a setting
made for the blues! There's more coming to Live
on the Levee, click
