Last
weekend in Memphis was the world's largest gathering
of blues bands, the 2008 International Blues
Challenge. 3 St. Louis bands were scheduled
to appear - Darrein Safron, Marquise Knox, and
Kim Massie. Darrein Safron and the Soul Sensations
packed the Club Superior on Beale, and delivered
a set that drew a roaring ovation. Kim Massie
gave her best, unfortunately suffering a bout
of bronchitis that kept her from completing
her sets - we're just glad she's feeling better.
Marquise Knox was unable to attend this years
IBC. The IBC is an incredible weekend of music,
something you must add to your Blues agenda!
