In Motion is one of the jewels of St. Louis street parties, featuring
live music and dance on three stages, children's art activities in the
Market in the Loop outdoor area, a dog talent contest and a variety of
sidewalk activities, even a little Brazilian Capiero. One of the highlights
of the festivities was the performance by Johnnie Johnson and his All-Star
band. Johnnie, who has a star on
the U. City Walk of Fame, drew a large crowd of music lovers on a
glorious fall day to enjoy some living Blues history. Coming out of a
semi-retirement to provide vocals for the show was Larry Thurston, who
answered Gods calling a while back and became a preacher. Beatle Bob was
even on hand to mark this as an official happening! From classics like
After Hours, to Down Home Blues, a great afternoon of Blues was served
up to a very appreciative crowd. Larry Thuston closed by sharing a bit
of Gospel in a stirring solo version of Amazing Grace. A glorious ending
to a fun afternoon of music in this world class Blues town! Loop In Motion
