Uncertain weather greeted the crowd that descended on the J.
B Park ampitheater last Friday night. On hand to introduce the
evening's entertainment was Fox 2 weatherman Glen Zimmerman,
who granted the evening a 'Blues Weather Window' - good job
Glen!
Charlie Musselwhite was introduced by Glen to the enthusiastic
crowd on hand! Charlie is a Chicago legend, recipient of countless
awards and nominations, having perfected his craft performing
with countless Blues icons over the years.
Charlie reminisced a bit about 1950's Chicago, and his visits
to Curly's Little Twist, where he observed and later performed
with artists such as Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy Waters and
Howlin' Wolf! Charlie performed several STLBlues favorites,
such as 'River Hip Mama' and 'Highway 51'. An element of Brazilian
music was even featured by Charlie, a influence from his past
Brazil tour! It was a fun evening of great music, brought to
town in the form of a legend, Mr. Charlie Musselwhite.
The J.B. park concert series - a perfect music venue for families
to bring thier kids & a cooler, spread a blanket and set
up some lawn chairs. So c'mon!
There's
so much more music coming, here's
