STLBlues :: A Blues Music eZine

Music is such a vital part of the New Orleans culture, and nowhere is that more evident than at that incredible music event known as the Jazzfest. Departing St. Louis on a rainy, overcast day, anticipation of this annual event grew with each passing mile. Nowhere in my travels has the music of a region been so vital, so much a part of daily life than in New Orleans.

A stop in The French Quarter showcased the Jazz, Blues and Zydeco that are so much a part of this town, and served as a small sample of what was to come, the magic known as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. A virtual musical gumbo, Jazzfest takes ingredients of Jazz,, Gospel, Rock, Zydeco, Blues, Reggae, Samba, Hip Hop, Native American, and blends it all together to create a musical Gumbo that will satisfy the biggest musical appetite!

We hope you enjoy this pictorial review, and find yourself irresistibly drawn next year to the Crescent City to experience Jazzfest 2003! Tell them STLBlues sent you!
