– Ryan Waked
Guitarist Ryan Waked from Wentzville, MO
began playing guitar at age 15. Now, at
26 he has quickly became one of St. Louis'
most exciting young blues players. Ryan
has been a featured act in all 3 of the
Baby Blues Showcases, headlining in 2003.
His blues-power guitar style has been called
a combination of Albert King, Luther Allison,
and Albert Collins. Ryan's favorite local
players he has had the opportunity to play
with include Rich McDonough, Bennie Smith
and Soulard Blues Band.
Bass – Preston Hubbard
Shakey Ground’s newest member, Preston
Hubbard, recently moved to St. Louis from
Austin, Texas. His amazing bass and double
bass were featured in such bands as the
original Roomful of Blues and the Fabulous
Thunderbirds (1984-1994). Recently he has
played with Nick and the Nitelifes (2004
Handy winners) and Tony Vega (Houston).
Preston has recorded with Bonnie Raitt,
Stevie Ray Vaughan, Big Joe Turner, The
Nitelifes, Scott Hamilton, Roy Eldridge,and
many others. His Texas-style, lowdown bluesy
bass along with harmonious back-up vocals
have been a great addition to Shakey Ground.

Drums – Derek Bonn
Derek has been playing his hard-driving,
double-kick grooves around town since age
13. He played with Blue Friday and Pennsylvania
Slim before joining forces with Shakey Ground
in 2005 at age 21. He has participated in
2 of the Baby Blues Showcases and is also
the drummer for Freak Accident, a St. Louis
area metal band. Derek has studied under
Joe Nunez from Soulfly and his dad –
Paul Bonn.
Vocals
– Paul Bonn
Vocalist Paul Bonn from O’Fallon,
IL has been a drummer for many years, playing
with The Boogiemen and Facts of Life, among
others before hooking up with Shakey Ground.
During his years with the Facts of Life,
he began to establish himself as an entertaining
and talented front man. Paul is known all
over the St. Louis area for his galvanizing
entertainment style with a voice that is
rich in raw emotion.
Shakey Ground has also featured a number
of special guests such as: Tom Maloney,
Gus Thornton, Sal Rellis, John Logan, Rich
McDonough, Les Moore, Larry Griffin, Eric
McSpadden, Sharon Foehner, Chuck Loeb, and
many more of St. Louis' finest blues players.
