Smith is one of St. Louis' leading blues guitarist,
with his musical heritage firmly rooted here in St.
Louis. Those
of you who were fortunate enough to have seen Bennie
perform can attest to his musical genius. Bennie recorded
"Box Top" and quite a few songs with Ike Turner. Over
the years Bennie has played with artists like Little
Milton, and Aretha
Franklin. Bennie has also played with or taught
just about everybody! You name them - Billy Peek, Little
Herbert, Q.T. Macon, Larry Davis, Oliver
Sain, Billy Gayles, Ike
Turner, Albert
King (who called him Alvino Ray), BB
King, Bobby
Bland, and Little
