January 1998, the St. Louis based quartet of Mark Dobson, Andy
Francis, Ron Roskowske and Jim Whiteside invoked the spirits and
demons of the blues from the Windy City to the Mississippi Delta
and mixed them with strains of Memphis and Motown to create the
soulful experience known as Soul Bone.
Jim serves up gritty vocals and solid drumming; Andy provides the harmonic foundation of the group on bass; Ron portrays a mild-mannered secondary school music instructor by day, transforming into an unassuming guitar giant by night; while Mark screams and oozes the blues on sax. The
group has met with rave reviews highlighting their reverence
to the traditional Blues masters, R&B giants, and Soul greats.
Their musical prowess coupled with their non-pretentious stage
presence makes them a crowd favorite any night of the week.
