Janiva Magness - Do I Move You Janiva Magness - Do I Move You
Recorded At Radio Recorders, Northern Blues Music 2006

Get the latest - possibly the greatest...you decide! 11 cuts, full band recordings featuring the Blues Wrecking Crew with Rick Holmstrom, Colin Linden, Jeff Turmes, Gary Davenport, Richard Bell and Stephen Hodges!

In May 2006 she beat out contemporaries Susan Tedeschi, Shemekia Copeland and Marcia Ball to win the 2006 Blues Music Award for ‘Contemporary Female Artist of the Year.’ Janiva puts this well produced CD, with great vocals and back up talent right on the line for you to enjoy. California based but a solid blues voice give her the edge over many of her contemporaries.

Let’s look at these solid cuts-----
1 – I’m Just a Prisoner – Great starter and a good groove tune
2 – Workin’ On Me Baby – Harder sound but it works well
3 – You Were Never Mine – Grab a beer and listen to the blues
4 – I Can’t Stop Cryin’ – Finish the beer with this toe tapper and a grin
5 – Don’t Let Your Memories – Good slow blues tune
6 – I Want You To /Have Everything – Good shuffle, upbeat and smooth
7 – Do I Move You – Oh yah baby – Good organ slow and sexy blues
8 – Bad Blood – Funky beat good mojo
9 - I Give Up – Solid 8 bar
10 – Stealin’ Sugar – Listen to Janiva’s quality voice here
11 – A Man Size Job – Hard drivin’ electric song to wrap it up

Not a bad cut on the album. I don’t say that very often. This is good stuff, not overdone or pushed, just out there for you to enjoy. She gets a 4.7 on my STLBluesometer!
