The world, not just Blues music, lost a great woman with the passing of Candye Kane. She gifted so many with the magic she could bring to a room, and the friends she made along her journey. It went far beyond her music, it was also her indominitable, brave spirit. She'll be missed by so many, may her music be eternal.....

National Blues Museum Board Chair Rob Endicott was the featured guest on STL Up Late this past weekend - watch the full episode here (go to the 16:28 minute mark)!

"The Blues in the Schools program conducted by Dave Beardsley was a 'Train the Trainer' workshop for our Southern CORE Conference. Dave encompassed several disciplines in his presentation, from history to geography, and used Blues music to take the viewer on a timeline from the late 1800's up to today. Educational and entertaining!"

National Blues Museum
Buck Up for the Blues
As part of its Honor the Past-Build for the Future of the Blues campaign, the museum secured funding from both private and public supporters to help restore and renovate the 23,000 square foot facility. The museum houses artifact-driven exhibits and highly-interactive galleries, in addition to performance, classroom and special event spaces. “By awarding this grant to the museum, American Express demonstrates they understand the importance of historic preservation – not only for the building, but for the deep historic roots that Blues music holds in all American music,” said Dion Brown, the museum’s Executive Director.
