Jeff Beck: Performing This Week Live At
Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club
Eagle Rock | Nov. 25, 2008
From his time with The Yardbirds in the ‘60s,
through The Jeff Beck Group and his solo career,
Jeff Beck’s unique guitar style of searing
guitar licks in a rock-jazz-fusion way is consistent
throughout this release and never better.
This 2007 live gig at the famed jazz club Ronnie
Scott’s in London features the legendary guitarist
in a 16-song career-spanning set that incorporates
Rock, Jazz, and Blues. Joining Beck is the young
bassist Tal Wilkenfeld that stole the show at last
summers Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival
(check out the solo on Cause We’ve Ended As
Lovers – wow!), drummer Vinnie Colaiuta and
keyboardist Jason Rebello.

If you like Jeff Beck or
guitar rich instrumentals as I do you’ll love
this CD. As a bonus I really enjoyed the funky bass
on track number 6 and the piano on 12. On this CD
you’ll find classic tracks that span Beck's
career including: 'Beck's Bolero', 'Led Boots',
'Scatterbrain', 'Where Were You', 'Angels (Footsteps)',
'Cause We've Ended As Lovers' and unique version
of The Beatles tune 'A Day In The Life'. A DVD of
the event, the first such live concert DVD as authorized
by Jeff Beck, will be available in 2009.
Peace
and Love
