The 2009 International Blues Challenge

M For Mississippi STLBlues covers many, many events each year, and nothing is quite like the IBC! Over 150 bands, 16 venues, and the feel of Beale Street make the IBC a great event. The bands that made it to Beale deserve congratulations, they're all winners!

The Band Category winners are:
1st Place - JP Soars & The Red Hots representing the South Florida Blues Society
2nd Place - Ty Curtis Band representing the Cascade Blues Association
3rd Place - Monkey Junk representing the Ottawa Blues Society

The Solo Duet Category winners are:
1st Place - Little Joe McLerran representing the Blues Society Of Tulsa
2nd Place - Alphonso & Richard representing the Crossroads Blues Society of MS.

It's impossible to see all the music this event offers, with 16 participating venues hosting a new band every 30 minutes, but you'll have so much fun trying! The International Blues Challenge is produced by the Blues Foundation, and they say it's the "largest gathering of blues bands in the world".
