The guitar. It lets me speak.

Q: What are some of your musical influences?

Q: What music were you exposed to in your childhood?
My cousin was a guitar player/singer, mostly for fun. He now plays for church.

Q: What music do you like to listen to?
Sean Costello, Duke Rollibard, Tommy Castro, Little Charlie. Most anyone who is keeping the flames burning.

Q: Have you done any recordings?
Yes, I have my first CD out, you can pick it up at here at Vintage Vinyl or Street Side records. It is being distributed thru Blue Sky. I have also recorded with saxist Tommy Simms, I played on a local gospel release.and I have played on various cd's as a sideman & studio player.

Q: What's your favorite music moment?
Opening up for Ronnie Earl. Ronnie is a huge influence and a great guy. I met him in Virginia while he was with Roomful of Blues, and he gave me some advice, which I followed, and then I got the opportunity to open for him at Off Broadway. I have remained it touch with him to this day.

Q: What's your favorite gig?
Any of them! I love playin the blues. Every time we perform I feel blessed.

Q: Describe your musical path.
I fell deeply in love with blues guitar at a very young age,and got my first guitar at age 12. Playin' the blues seemed to come pretty natural to me because I had been exposed to it by friends of my parents in a very small town called Glasgow Va. I played music in local bars, backyard parties and any garage we could find while in high school. The day after I graduated I went on the road traveling the east coast circuit for 7 years. Then I settled in Newport News Va. and went to college for 2 years, ran out of money, and went back on the road. This took me overseas and from New York to Florida for 3 years. I got a call from a singer I had worked with who was now in St. Louis asking me to record on his record, thats how I came to St.Louis. I love St.Louis, I have been here 20 years and have been playing Blues all over the midwest.

Q: What are your musical goals?
With the cd out I am trying to spread out a little more. We have played some in Texas and Chicago Kansas City. I intend upon releasing the next cd in early fall. We have been invited to perform at the King Biscuit Blues Festival this year so that's a step in the right direction.

Q: What do you think of the state of St. Louis Blues?
There are a lot of nice people in St.Louis who love the Blues. And there are some fine bands, all in all I think it is in a fine state.
