SINS OF THE PIONEERS :: BIO

Sometime in the early '80s this band sort of formed out of old friends and family members of KDHX's Mark "Sunnyboy" Mason's. It started out as a mostly Country/Western swing outfit and has since taken on New Orleans style Jazz and R&B, vintage Rock and Roll, and some Caribbean Creolisms. We've got a huge respect for the Past, without being boring purists. None of these things are pure anyway. A lot of folks have come and gone in our ranks, but we're still based on the Mason boys: Sunnyboy and his brother Tom on bass and drums respectively, their daddy, "Wild" Bill Mason on trumpet and harmonica, along with old (and I do mean old) comrades--Geoff Seitz on fiddle, Jim Brennan, boards, John Webb, and sometimes Dennis Buckhannon on guitar.
