Web Design 101 :: Follow these steps to begin a web project

We've honed our skills designing dozens of sites over the years, following principles of Web design including fast downloading, easy to navigate pages, consistent page layout and colors, and effective use of links and graphics. We design all our client sites with your needs foremost, and give you the necessary advice to integrate your branding, content and message into a clean, visually appealing web site!

Choose a domain name

Pick your favorite 5 names, then go to Dot Easy and see if they're available

Purchase your favorite name
Buying from Dot Easy means NO monthly hosting fees*
Having us as your webmaster makes us the administrative contact with Dot Easy. Then we can access and work on your site. *For basic sites. Fees associated with options, extreme web traffic

Describe your site!
Doteasy will ask for a website description, and 25 keywords that pertain to your site. Email these to us; we'll need these to make your site 'search-engine friendly'.

Think of a 'visual theme'
As webmaster, we'll need your vision of what you want your site to look like. If you've seen sites that you like, email us these sites for a design concept.

Decide your 'navigation needs'
Think of your website as a book. You'll need a 'chapter of contents'. Then your webmaster can design links, or navigation, so visitors can travel through your site easily. Navigation is very important, and requires some planning on your part.

Develop your content
You'll need to develop exactly what you want visitors to see on each page of your website. For instance, a restaurant/nightclub site would have a home page, a menu page, a music page, etc. You'll also need images (photos) that you want for each page. A logo is useful also, so your 'branding' stays consistent. If you need graphics created, your webmaster can help there. Email your webmaster all this content.

A common mistake is not designing the site with the 'end-user' as the audience. Talk to some of the people who will make up your target audience, put yourself in their shoes, and make the items and services they want the most prominent items on the website.
