Canadian Blues vocalist Shakura S’Aida is using her voice to aid relief efforts in Haiti. “Angels on High” — from her new album, Brown Sugar — is now available for download to aid victims of the Haiti Earthquake.
Every time the song is purchased for $1.00, proceeds will be donated to Free The Children, an international children’s charity which is working together with Partners in Health to provide long-term health care, education and relief for children affected by the disaster.
The track is downloadable through the artist’s website, located at: www.shakurasaida.com.
The song was written by Shakura S’Aida and her band partner Donna Grantis, and is a highlight of her new album, which has already been released in Europe, and will be on sale in Canada and the United States April 13. Both Shakura and Donna are currently on tour in Europe as part of the Blues Caravan tour.
Said the singer: “Both Donna and I feel that the earthquake in Haiti has reminded us that we are all connected, we are all family. We are indeed each other’s angels and we need to take care of each other now and always.”
