The
legacy lives on for “The Man with the Golden Horn" |
Determined to fulfill his legacy and live by his direction, Ruby Sain,
Oliver’s widow is raising funds to dedicate “The Oliver
Sain and Friends Museum”.
Wanting to give back to the community, the museum will offer free
instruction to music and drama students, as well as dance and other
techniques of the performing arts.
The structure will include a computer room, a library and recording
studio, and display a replica of the original sound recording facilities
where Oliver recorded many of his and others hit soundtracks.
The goal is to raise $1, 000,000.00 and Ruby Sain says she is determined
to fulfill Oliver’s legacy and live by his advice.
A celebration and show is planned for November 7, 2009 from 5 pm until
11 pm to raise funds for the project. Local and national recording
artists will perform at the Crown Plaza in St. Louis to support Oliver’s
heritage.
