Friday, April 24, 2009
Tomorrow at 3:00 PM the Mississippi Blues Commission and the Kosciusko-Attala Development Corporation will unveil the 70th blues trail marker honoring 6-time Grammy nominated and W.C. Handy Award recipient, Charlie Musselwhite.  This is a milestone for the trail and we are excited to honor our native blues vocalist, guitarists, and harmonica player.  Please join us if you can.

A week from today, the Mississippi Public Broadcast show Mississippi Roads will feature the Mississippi Blues Trail on channel #7 at 7:00 PM.  The show will highlight the development of the trail and will include portions of the Bobby Rush marker dedication that took place in Jackson on November 11, 2008.  Please tune in.

The Mississippi Blues Trail is going national!  On Friday, May 8, following the annual Blues Awards ceremony in Memphis, TN, the Mississippi Blues Commission and the Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau will unveil the first out-of-state marker for the trail.  The event will take place near Beale Street and in front of the Fed Ex Forum at 11:30 AM.  Please join us for this exciting occasion.

On Saturday May 9, the Mississippi Blues Commission and the City of Belzoni will honor the 3rd female on the Mississippi Blues Trail.  ECKO Records artist and Belzoni native, Denise LaSalle will be honored at 2:00 PM.  Please join us if you can.
