Last
weekend in Memphis was the world's largest gathering of blues bands,
the 2008 International Blues Challenge. 3 St. Louis bands were scheduled
to appear - Darrein Safron, Marquise Knox, and Kim Massie. Darrein
Safron and the Soul Sensations packed the Club Superior on Beale,
and delivered a set that drew a roaring ovation. Kim Massie gave her
best, unfortunately suffering a bout of bronchitis that kept her from
completing her sets - we're just glad she's feeling better. Marquise
Knox was unable to attend this years IBC. The IBC is an incredible
weekend of music, something you must add to your Blues agenda!
The 2008 IBC winners are...
