The Grand County Blues Society and Category 5 Amps have joined forces for a night of music on May 24 at the Grenada Theatre in Dallas, Texas, to benefit the Blue Star Connection.
Blue Star Connection is a program we created to put instruments into the hands of kids going thru cancer and cancer treatment. It also gets them into shows with the help of the artists and agents. They call it the "cure for the cure."
They have several great Blues artists on the lineup, including BluesWax Artist of the year Albert Cummings with Tommy Shannon and George Rains, Bob Margolin, Zac Harmon, Smokin' Joe Kubek and Bnois King, Sean Carney, Jon Richardson, and Diunna Greenleaf.
Anyone wishing to donate cash or silent auction items please contact them at cattbox@grandblues.org, stlritter@aol.com, or lcsritter@aol.com.
You can read all about or donate to Blue Star at grandblues.org.
"Let the kids do the talkin'"
Tickets will go on sale soon. A portion of every ticket sold will go directly to Blue Star Connection.
As our publisher likes to say, "Sometimes it's about the music, sometimes it is righteous and holy work." Blue Star is the latter. Support this great cause, it is how the Blues World gives to these special kids.
