The Winter tour will be on Friday, January 14th, mark
your calendars. Buses will begin rolling from the Chicago Cultural
Center at 6 p.m., with a special acoustic blues show from Chainsaw
Dupont with special guests from 5 to 7 p.m., as in the recent
past tours, you will be asked to check in no earlier than 45 minutes
before your departure time, and of course, advance discounts will
be offered to all of you, as well as group discounts. The tour
will also include Chainsaw debuting a brand new CD, "Bourbon
St. Breakdown", with many special guest performers, at Hothouse.
Full
price tix will be $30, but all Blues U. members will get a break
if you order early, we'll have details soon, including clubs
and performers, as well as special hotel deals from the Whitehall
and Grant Park Best Western.
There
are also cool city sponsored blues events on Saturday in the
new blues district on 47th Street as well as downtown, and Sunday
night there's the always-popular Buddy Guy show at his own club,
Legends. Monday is a national holiday, ML King day, don't forget,
so it's a great weekend to do a blues getaway!
