American roots music label Blind Pig has announced a May 18 release date for three new CD titles: Name The Day! from retro-soul singing John Németh; Stand Together by rock, world music, and jam band favorite Harper; and, Raising The Bar from traditional blues stalwarts Magic Slim and the Teardrops.

John Németh continues to reinvigorate vintage rhythm and blues with his ability to skillfully blend retro and modern Blues and soul into compelling music that is simultaneously old and new. With Name The Day! Nemeth draws on the classic Blues, soul, and R&B influences that inform his vocal style and lays down a set of tunes that wouldn't sound a bit out of place in the golden years of Memphis or Muscle Shoals. His vocals, with echoes of the toughness of James Brown and the tenderness of Solomon Burke, infuse the album with a funky, soulful feeling.

Part harmonica wizard and part rhythmic explorer, Harper is a fiery artist who blurs the lines between rock, Blues, soul, and world music. Magic Slim is a proponent of the intense, electrified, Mississippi-to-Chicago blues style that spawned much of the music played by modern Blues artists and rock 'n' rockers. Magic Slim and Blind Pig Records celebrate their twenty year collaboration with the release of Raising The Bar, a collection of R&B gems and perennial crowd favorites culled from Slim's vast repertoire.
