WINNERS & FINALISTS' UPDATES
*Jordan Zevon (Overall Grand Prize of the 2008 USA Songwriting Competition)
along with co-writers Jordan Summers & Morty Coyle will have
his winning song "Home" on the USA Songwriting Competition's
compilation CD this year. Jordan is a singer-songwriter from Los
Angeles won 1st Prize in the 2006 USA Songwriting Competition but
was not placed in the Overall Grand Prize, Overall 2nd Prize and
Overall 3rd Prize at that time. This year Jordan improved to the
Top position. He is signed to New West Records. His 2006 winning
song "The Joke's On Me" is the first track on his debut
album "Insides Out" with New West Records. He has also
appeared on TV's "Late Night with David Letterman". Jordan
will also perform at USA Songwriting Competition's showcase during
SXSW (see details below).
*Ari
Gold (2007 USA Songwriting Competition Grand Prize Winner) had his
Music Video "Human" aired on Logo TV. Ari also has had
his winning song "Where The Music Takes You" hit at #10
(on Billboard's HOT DANCE/CLUB PLAY Charts). The song hit #1 on
Sirius OutQ and #1 video on Logo TV channel and won Overall Grand
Prize as well as 1st Prize, Pop at the 2007 USA Songwriting Competition.
The song received airplay after his win at the USA Songwriting Competition.
The song is written by Ari Gold and Joe Hogue JOJOHO' & Sean
Petersen. The song is sung by Ari Gold, featuring Ari Gold Featuring
Sasha Allen. Ari Gold has written songs with superstar songwriter
Desmond Child. Ari's new CD also features a duet with multi-platinum
selling Capitol Records artist Dave Koz. Ari was also a back-up

Tosun (2001 USA Songwriting Competition finalist) has her song "Underlying
Feeling" on the Billboard Dance Charts at peak at #12.

Kohrs & the Lites, 4th Annual IAMA (International Acoustic Music
Awards) 1st Prize winner (Country/Bluegrass) had their song "Rockwell's
Gold" aired on Acoustic Cafe radio program on the Week of 10/13/08
- 10/19/08.
*Charlie
Dore, 4th Annual IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards) Overall
Grand Prize winner had her song "Looking For My Own Lone Ranger"
aired this week on Acoustic Cafe Radio show (9/29/08 10/5/08). Charlie
is known for her Top 10 Billboard hit "Pilot of the Airwaves"
in 1979/1980. She has since reinvented herself as a Folk Singer-Songwriter.

*Kate
Voegele's winning song (2005 USA Songwriting Competition, 1st Prize,
Pop) "Only Fooling Myself" was featured in CBS' dramas
Clubhouse and Ghost Whisperer. Her winning song is on her album
"Don't Look Away" which hit #27 on the Billboard Album
charts this year. Her song "Hallelujah" hit #68 on the
Billboard Hot 100 charts this year. Kate Voegele performed several
songs from her debut album Don't Look Away on the The Early Show,
Saturday, February 2, 2008 on CBS television network nationally.
Kate's band member Sam provided backup vocals and beat box support
