WOMEN
& BLUES CONCERT MIXES SOUL WITH HARD-ROCKING BLUES |
Whether
you like classic soul or hard-rocking blues, the 21st Annual Women
and Blues Concert to benefit Redevelopment Opportunities for Women
(ROW) is sure to please. This year’s concert will be Saturday,
April 22, at The Pageant, and will feature two national blues artists,
E.C. Scott and Joanna Connor.
Representing the “blues-rock experience,” Joanna Connor
is a Chicago blues muscian whose impassioned vocals and gritty guitar
work have brought her a strong following and critical acclaim. On
the other end of the spectrum, E.C. Scott’s “blues in
overdrive” has earned her such praise as a “wonderful
soul singer and an effective and invigorating blues interpreter.”
Both artists, who have released several albums and toured nationally,
are excited to perform in St. Louis and help raise awareness of ROW.

The annual concert is a major fundraiser for ROW, a non-profit organization
that has provided critical services to women impacted by domestic
violence, homelessness and poverty since 1979. Based on the premise
that every individual has self-worth and is endowed with certain strengths
and abilities, ROW’s mission is to create opportunities for
women to pursue economic self-sufficiency and personal and family
development.
Tickets are $40 in advance, and $50 at the door. VIP seating, which
