GIVING
SAINT LOUIS THE BLUES FOR TWENTY YEARS ON KDHX |
Continuous weekly shows by each DJ (and each are working musicians/music
industry/historians) since 1987, covering a gamut of styles -
Ron Edwards has been doing theme-oriented, largely pre-war
artists and country blues; Papa Ray, contemporary
southern soul/blues, classic R&B-Soul, with an orientation to
vocalists from Bobby Bland to Bobby Womack, and Art Dwyer
with his "Blues, R & B, Jazz and Soul for your soul - None
of the Hits, All of the Time".
All three shows are committed to featuring foundation artists from
Saint Louis, from Henry Townsend to Ike Turner to Marquise Knox ,
and each show gives a stylistic/rhythmic/programmic BITCH-SLAP to
national satellite blues programming. They are unique and 'idiomatic'
to the blues music tradition of our city. Let
them know you appreciate them and the music they share, at
