Produced
by John and his wife Marla, the new record reunites 'Ready For
Love' alums Marty Ballou (bass) and Stephen Hodges (percussion)
for an acoustic tour de force. The result is one of Hammond's
most rewarding blues sets to date.
The
same day the album was released John performed at a WFUV Members
Show, City Folk Live, at Fordham Uniiversity, NYC. On February
3, from 8-9pm (EST), if you’re in the New York City area,
you can hear the CD in its entirety on 90.7 WFUV (www.wfuv.org).
Information
about his 2005 winter tour is posted
here,
with stops in all major markets including New York, Boston,
Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more. An international
tour is in the works for the summer of 2005.
What nice
folks have been saying about the album:
"There
is an in-the-pocket groove about this release to go with its
overall vitality & accomplished air. The blues of John Hammond
has returned, so arm yourselves with this release." Billy
Hutchinson, Blues Matters!
"In
a career now entering its fifth decade, it’s safe to say
that John Hammond has never released a bad album. In Your Arms
Again, continues that streak." Graham Clarke, Blues Bytes
"While
In Your Arms Again is a must-have for ALL fans of his music,
Hammond has also crafted a musical collection that solidly delivers
a very appealing example of the Spartan elegance that is the
blues." Son Lewis, The United Jersey Blues Network
