Delta
Groove Music has announced the upcoming release of a new live CD by
the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue, featuring the Tommy Castro
Band and an all-star lineup including Deanna Bogart, Magic Dick, and
Ronnie Baker Brooks all taking turns leading the band. The Legendary
Rhythm & Blues Revue was born when the musicians were booked to
play together to headline The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise.
The Revue is currently touring the western U.S. the Delta Groove release
will spotlight live highlights of that tour. Delta
Groove C.E.O. Randy Chortkoff says, “Getting a lineup of this
caliber together for a single show or a recording session is one
thing, but having them out on the road together as a working band
and getting as tight and polished as they’ve become brings
things up to an entirely different level. And I’ve always
felt that live shows catch a kind of interaction and excitement
that you don’t always get in a studio recording, so to be
able to put out a CD of some of the very best of the best is a real
treat…I’m very excited by what I’ve heard, and
since they’re still on tour and recording more shows that
we may use, I believe this release is going to be a monster.”
No
word on the release date, but watch for it around the time of the
next Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise in January, as well as another
tour of the southeast following that cruise.
