Winter Blues Fest |
The Cincy
Blues Society, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, will present Winter
Blues Fest 2008 on Friday, January 25, and Saturday, January 26, at
the Southgate House in Newport, Kentucky. Doors open at 6 p.m. and
the music begins at 6:30. Admission is $15 each night and only $10
for Cincy Blues Society members each night. They've 22 acts on 3 stages
over two full nights. This year’s event once again supports
their Blues in the Schools program, bringing area Blues musicians
into area schools to educate children about the history and importance
of Blues music as an original American art form. They will showcase
the Blues in the Schools band both nights.
Scheduled performers include: Blumanchu, G. Miles and
the Hitmen, iiJuicy, Ricky Nye and the Red Hots, The Blues Merchants,
Malkum Gibson and the Mighty Juke, Jimmy D. Rogers, Brown Street Breakdown,
Gregg and James Clark, The Blue Ravens, The J. Dorsey Blues Band,
Them Bones with Cheryl Renee, 46 Long, Bekah Williams and Ricky Nye,
Miss Lissa and Company, and more.
