dates for the October 2008 and January 2009 Legendary Rhythm Blues
Cruises have been announced. The Pacific Cruise will sail from San
Diego to Mexican Riviera/Baja ports on October 5-12, 2008. The cruise
will be on Holland America’s intimate ms Ryndam to Mazatlan,
La Paz, and Cabo San Lucas. Pricing, artists, when you can book
will be announced soon.
The
Eastern Caribbean Cruise will sail from Ft. Lauderdale, January
24-31, 2009 on Holland America’s newest ship, the 2008-built
ms Eurodam with ports to Dominique, Tortola & Somana, and Dominican
Republic. Caribbean pre-bookers will be notified in early 2008 with
ports, pricing, artists, as well as when to call for cabin selection.
The
Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise accepted over 130 entries in
the SonicBids Band Challenge where artists competed to perform on
the October cruise out of San Diego. The winner was multiple Grammy
and WC Handy Award winner Joe Louis Walker. The lucky Pacific cruisers
will get to see Walker perform.

Brantley will be serving as co-host of the Piano Bar aboard the
October cruise, along with International Blues Challenge winner
Eden Brant. Brantley spent several years as keyboardist and vocalist
for Roomful Of Blues, recorded with Stevie Ray Vaughan, and was
a member of The Fabulous Thunderbirds. He's now settled in Las Vegas,
where he hosts a radio show and performs nightly on the strip.
