Due
to the overwhelming success of the first-ever Legendary Rhythm &
Blues Revue Tour in January and February of this year, the Revue is
hitting the road again this spring with eleven shows scheduled for
April and May, including a performance in Memphis the night before
the Blues Music Awards ceremony. Spearheaded by Tommy Castro, recently
voted Blueswax's "Artist of the Year," and his crowd-pleasing
band, the Revue also features Magic Dick, Deanna Bogart, and Ronnie
Baker Brooks. The
Revue Tour is the brainchild of Roger Naber, founder of the Legendary
Rhythm & Blues Cruise, the world's only fully chartered blues
cruise that sails both the Pacific and Caribbean annually. These cruises
are an interactive blues festival at sea, and attract nearly 4,000
music fans each year from all 50 states and up to 18 foreign countries.
Each cruise brings as many as 19 bands on board, plus a variety of
special guests to enhance artist workshops and pro jam sessions.
The idea behind the Revue Tour is to bring the energy and excitement
from this decade's hottest blues ticket from the High Seas to land.
All four of the acts featured in the Revue are favorites of the Blues
Cruise community passengers, as tallied by cruiser feedback. One of
the most popular events on the Blues Cruises are the late night jam
sessions that occur every evening during the voyage.
