Anthony Gomes announced that longtime bass player and friend Biscuit
Miller is no longer handling touring bass duties.
"At this point in his life," said
Gomes, "Biscuit needs some time off the road. We love him and
miss him but, as brothers, we both support and respect his decision."
Miller was honored by Anthony and the band
over Labor Day Weekend in Nashville with a celebration dubbed "Biscuit
Fest." Friends and fans traveled from nearly a dozen different
states to pay tribute to Biscuit's tenure with the band, which includes
full-time touring for over four years and performing on five out
of Gomes' six CDs. Miller plans on focusing his time on his family
and playing locally in Indianapolis and Chicago, supplemented with
short-term tours as opportunities present themselves. Miller was
involved in choosing his replacement and he approved the decision.
Gomes' new lineup includes David Karns (St.
Louis, Missouri) on bass, Peter Lang (St. Louis, Missouri) on drums,
and veteran Todd Hamric (Memphis, Tennessee) on keyboards and organ.
Anthony
and the organization wish to thank Biscuit for
his time and work with the band and would like to thank their fans
who will all miss Biscuit but have already opened their arms to
the new members.
