The
Australian Blues Music 'Chain' Awards were presented Thursday,
February 7, at the Tattersalls Hotel in Goulburn, New South Wales,
as a part of the official opening of the 12th annual Australian
Blues Music Festival. Performances of the night were by Stingray,
Natural Ball, and Collard Greens and Gravy.
The Awards, which are independent of the
Australian Blues Music Festival and named after Chain, the only
Blues band to have had a national number one hit in Australia,
are recognized as the industry's most prestigious honor and are
presented each year to recognize excellence in Blues music in
Australia.
The
winners for 2008 are:
Song of the Year - "You Gotta Go"

Duo or Group of the Year - Chase The Sun
Female Vocalist of the Year - Gail Page
Male Vocalist of the Year - Tim Gaze
New Talent of the Year - Gail Page
Producer of the Year - Parris Macleod for the Gail Page album
