Here's
what's up with the JellyRoll All-Stars |
The band, which consists of the legendary Muddy Waters rhythm
section - Willie "Big Eyes" Smith (drums & vocals), Calvin
"Fuzz" Jones (bass), plus Arthur
Williams (harp & vocals), Sam Carr (drums, alternating
with Willie "Big Eyes"), Jesse Hoggard (guitar & vocals) and
yours truly (Bob Lohr - piano), has signed with Severn
Records and will record it's first CD in Clarksdale at Jimbo
Mathus' new studio, located in the
old WROX radio studio during the first week in February. This
project will be recorded and produced by Jimbo Mathus, ex-guitarist
of the Squirrel Nut Zippers and who recorded with Buddy Guy on
his recent acoustic CD "Blues Singer" as well as his last CD,
"Sweet Tea"; Jimbo will also be playing rhythm guitar behind Buddy
on his upcoming North American tour supporting "Blues
Singer".
