The Ivory Perry Concert Series' committee is pleased to
announce the featured artists for the second year of concerts
in Ivory Perry Park. Three free concerts are planned this summer
on the fourth Sunday of June, July and August. The series features
some of the best jazz and blues in Saint Louis.
June 27th leads off with the incomparable
Denise Thimes.
July 25th has the talented Charles Glenn singing jazzy soul
and R&B classics.
Blues Diva, Kim Massie, concludes the series on August 22.
This
is a fun, family-oriented event, so lawn chairs and picnics
are encouraged. There will be music for all ages and special
events for the kids. The enthralling stories of Bobby Norfolk
will be told from the stage at the June 27th event. Funny faces,
voices, and tales that tickle your fancy are his specialty.
July will bring sprinklers and water, so bring your swim suits
and cool off in the St. Louis heat. August will feature the
hula hoop lady with extra large hoops to try out, as well as
frisbees. Area Schools will be honored at each event: Clark
Accelerated Academy in June, Mitchell School in July, and Soldan
International High School in August.
What:
A family event with Jazz and Blues and fun for all ages.
Where:
Ivory Perry Park. 900 Belt, 2 blocks north of Delmar Avenue.
